Shopify Checklist for eCommerce Business Owners

I know, I know. Just hearing the word “audit” can prompt a response similar to your body’s reaction to a bad burrito… mostly because it’s associated with a financial audit or, more specifically, the IRS.

And although I feel it’s good business practice to run occasional financial audits, the focus of today’s blog will be eComm marketing audits.

Just like a financial audit, an eComm marketing audit is not something to dread. It’s actually something you should welcome with an open mind.

Marketing audits are the launch pad for growing and scaling your eComm business.

Inviting an eComm store expert to inspect your store set-up, customer journey, and marketing strategy is a great way for you to see broken and inefficient elements of your store that you might not otherwise see.

Ideally, an eComm store audit should include recommendations for specific changes that can put your business on the path toward massive growth.

Unfortunately, most business owners don’t understand the value of having another pair of eyes on their business or the advantage of a different perspective.

Because it’s so easy to become entrenched in your business and lose sight of the forest for the trees, another perspective via an eComm marketing audit is a logical first step in taking your business to the next level.

So when choosing someone to audit your business, make sure they are an expert in their field (i.e. Facebook Ads, Shopify, Digital Marketing, etc.).

At Digital Dawn, one of our most favorite things to do for a new eComm client is a marketing audit. It gives us a thorough understanding of their business so we can create a strategic roadmap that sets the stage for massive growth in their business.

We use a specific checklist that helps us provide objective insight and identify areas where we can provide support.

This checklist was created as a result of the trending errors, inefficiencies, and broken strategies I was finding in nearly every account I inspected.

Our team is skilled in both conversion optimization and paid advertising, so we are able to give you a marketing perspective that most eComm business owners don’t have, including your competitors.

We then follow up with recommendations specific to your industry and your business.

A marketing audit isn’t just about uncovering what’s not working. It’s also an opportunity to discover what is working.

We love being able to make recommendations to our clients that will catapult their businesses toward massive growth and encourage them for the ways they are already crushing it.
