If you build it, they will come, right?
Sure, they might come… but that doesn’t mean they’ll buy.
High hopes for mind blowing conversion rates require more than a killer website and an amazing product.
Want to know how to boost your conversion rate before your competition figures it out? (because I don’t know an eComm go-getter who wouldn’t?)
Be intentional with the visuals you include on your website, in your ads, etc.
There’s a new buzz word in eComm town in – Visual Velocity. Have you heard of it?
Visual velocity is how quickly a consumer sees an image and responds to your CTA (call to action).
When you use quality, brand specific images that speak to your audience, you will slow the scroll, get a response, and make more money.
IF you build it (this way), they will come… and wear out that “add to cart” button.
So, let’s talk about the type of visuals that persuade consumers to take action based on what they see.
A scroll stopping, “can’t live without it” visual, has three qualifiers:
-
-
-
- The image is clear.
- There are a few words that explain the image and speak directly to the audience.
- The image demonstrates a tangible result (ex. A before and after)

Here at Digital Dawn, a team of digital marketers taking eComm brands from six to seven figures in 60-90 days, one of the first things we do is evaluate our clients’ visual assets.
Even though the images on their websites, paid ads, etc. may be aesthetically pleasing, they’re usually the reason they haven’t had consistent conversions.
When clients first come to us, most of their mages are missing at least one of the above qualifiers. But once we make the necessary adjustments, cha ching… over and over and over again.
There isn’t a shortage of “experts” out there telling you to add this pop of color to draw attention or take a picture of your organic product next to a succulent plant because, you know, “natural”.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that’s bad advice… but it certainly isn’t the best.
Remember, the overall objective isn’t to get people to click on your link. You want them to buy what you’re selling!
And here’s how you do that with your visual assets:
How to Use Visual Assets to Boost Conversion Rates
-
-
-
- Be strategic with the visuals you use.
- Make sure they are in line with your product, your audience, and the action you want them to take.
- Clearly communicate the product’s benefit.
- Test your visual assets.
- Use data to make your marketing decisions… always.

The less your audience has to think and the more desire you can create with your image, the more sales you’re going to make.
